OurSong 25th Anniversary Composition Competition “Alchemy: From Ordinary to Extraordinary” Submission Checklist
PDF score
🔲 All scores must be submitted in PDF format with pages numbered
🔲 Scores must be clear and ready for duplication and performance, using a standard electronic engraving software program (i.e., Sibelius, Finale, etc.).
🔲 The file name for the score should include the movement number, the title, and the estimated performance duration of the composition (e.g., Movement2_OurSong_4.50)
🔲 The first page of the score should contain the title of the piece.
🔲 Do not list the composer’s name on the score or anywhere in the PDF file. Note on the first page of your score if the text is original, public domain, or a copyrighted text used with permission from the copyright owner.
🔲 Include a voice-doubling piano accompaniment (for rehearsal only).
🔲 You may include a written statement of up to 300 words about the composition, composition process, or other relevant information about the piece. If notes are included, they must be part of the PDF file containing the score and cannot contain identifying information.
Recording
🔲 The file name for the recording should include the movement number, title, and the estimated performance duration of the composition (e.g., movement1_OurSong_4.50).
🔲 You may upload a document containing a web link to the recording in lieu of uploading a recording file.
🔲 Please be sure the recording submitted preserves your anonymity.
When you are ready to submit, email your PDF and recording to: Competition@OurSongAtlanta.org.
Important notes:
★ If your files are too large to email, please utilize WeTransfer (https://wetransfer.com/), a free file sharing service to submit your composition.
★ Compositions will be reviewed by a third party to ensure they have met all competition requirements. Entries not conforming to the requirements will be rejected.
★ Contestants will be notified whether or not their submission has been accepted for adjudication.
★ All submissions will be anonymized by a third party after acceptance and before the adjudication process in an effort to prevent any conflicts of interest or perceived conflicts of interest arising during the judging process.
