OurSong is hiring an Accompanist | Collaborative Pianist to begin in late August 2025.
Position OurSong Accompanist | Collaborative Pianist
Summary The OurSong Accompanist | Collaborative Pianist is a part-time position that provides piano accompaniment for OurSong chorus rehearsals and concerts, as well as administrative tasks to assist the OurSong artistic staff and chorus members.
Qualifications Finely tuned keyboard skills, open score reading, listening skills, and supreme musicianship; as well as the ability to work collaboratively with the artistic director, assistant music director, OurSong Board of Directors, and chorus members. The accompanist | collaborative pianist reports to the artistic director. Skills with other instruments are a plus.
Responsibilities
• Provide accompaniment and voice part learning support for all chorus OurSong rehearsals, retreats and concerts
• Assist OurSong artistic director, and assistant music director in all areas of the musical life of OurSong, including, but not limited to, sectionals, full chorus outreach concerts, vocal study tracks, concert tours, and community and cultural events
• Substitute for the OurSong artistic staff if either or both are ill or unable to attend rehearsal
• Conduct sectionals including playing and singing parts as needed to assist members in learning choral parts
• Assist the artistic director with auditions (1-2 evenings in August/January/March)
• Meet with the artistic staff once a month and as needed
• Collaborate with the artistic staff on programming when requested
• Provide assistance with score markings, preparations, and program notes as needed
• Assist staff and Board of Directors with concert-related logistics as needed
• Support the OurSong organization and our mission within the LGBTQIA+ community
OurSong Atlanta Concert Seasons
• OurSong has concerts each year in December, February or March, and May or June
• Full chorus rehearsals are Tuesday evenings from approximately 7 PM-10 PM with additional tech and dress rehearsals on Sunday and Wednesday of concert week
• Out of town retreat in the fall held Friday evening through Sunday early afternoon, and intown retreats in winter and spring held Saturday and/or Sunday from approx. 9 AM-4 PM
• Community performances four to six times/year, Tours/GALA/Various Voices, etc. up to one time per year (Note: Housing, transportation and registrations provided for out-of-town retreats and concerts)
