Mary S. HoneychurchDirector
Mary is an attorney in the Atlanta office of Berry, Appleman, & Leiden, working with corporate clients to secure U.S. work authorization and permanent residence on behalf of their foreign national employees. Mary guides clients through all aspects of corporate immigration matters, with a primary focus on helping large clients to develop streamlined and effective immigration policies. She enjoys examining protocols and policies to identify opportunities to improve efficiencies, both internally at BAL and in partnership with clients. While attending the University of Georgia School of Law, Mary worked with the University of Georgia’s Health Law Partnership Clinic (HeLP Clinic), where she assisted with a variety of administrative law matters, including SNAP benefits, guardianship/conservatorship, and immigration matters, particularly for victims of serious crimes. Prior to attending law school, she served as a paralegal in the field of business immigration law. Mary is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and serves on its Online Course Review Committee.
Outside of work, Mary is a member of Atlanta’s Midtown Alliance and an active participant in the Midtown Alliance’s Young Professionals division. She enjoys attending Stonewall Bar Association events as well as charitable fundraising events, including the annual Georgia Asylum & Immigration Network (GAIN) Gala. She regularly attends productions at Atlanta’s Shakespeare Tavern and is a singing member of OurSong Atlanta. Mary earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Rhodes College and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Georgia School of Law.
