The Singing Heart, a night of music that explores the deep desires of the human experience. From the struggle with coming out, to the search for love, and the acceptance of self…the Singing Heart reveals these yearnings with beauty and intensity.
The concert includes selections from Les Chansons des Roses by Morten Lauridsen, Imogen Heap’s Hide and Seek, and other selections from a variety of musical genres.
At the center of our concert is the letter which the character Michael Tolliver wrote to his mother in Armistead Maupin’s famous series Tales of the City, as set to music by David Maddux.
Although the text was penned almost three decades ago, it still speaks of the coming out process with relevance and earnestness. OurSong welcomes Atlanta baritone Brandon Odom, guest artist for this piece.
