Radical Change: Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Stonewall

June 14, 2019 @ 8:00 pm EDT

In late June of 1969, a journey of “Radical Change” began that would  transform our place in the world. After years of injustice, the LGBTQ+ community in New York City  took fate into their own hands and provided all of us with a path towards change and  acceptance. Still on that path today, we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall  Uprising and the resulting “Radical Change” that continues since that historic weekend.     During an era of hatred and intolerance, our community had hopes for a better world.   OurSong celebrates and remembers those who paved the way with the Southeast premiere of  Quiet No More. This eight movement work tells the story of the Stonewall Uprising and is a call to  action to keep the movement going. Created by twenty-six LGBTQ+ choruses around the US,  Quiet No More features the voices of diverse LGBTQ+ composers, including Julian Hornik (Dear  Evan Hansen); Our Lady J (Pose, Transparent); Mike Shaieb (Through A Glass Darkly); Ann  Hampton Callaway (singer/songwriter); Michael McElroy (Broadway Inspirational Voices, Rent);  and Jane Ramseyer Miller (One Voice Chorus). As part of our celebration, we will also honor and  give thanks to the founders of the Atlanta Feminist Women’s Chorus and the Atlanta Gay Men’s  Chorus.

Quiet No More will be performed by choruses throughout the US in 2019, the largest  collaboration in the history of LGBTQ+ choruses. Please join us for a night of inspirational choral  music in celebration and remembrance of those who started a fight for our rights that continues  today.
